Gemima's Cattery

331 Burton Rd, Lincoln LN1 3XD, UK – 01522 878712

My frends used this cat hotel they said it was brilliant and well worth the money and the help that gemima's offered when they were delayed getting back and the cat was very vocal about seeing his humans again and he looked in top conditions and well looked after

This is our preferred cattery when we need to get away. It does get busy on holidays so helps if you can book ahead. We've left Blue, our very solitary cat here, a few times, having learnt from previous experience, I take her out of her travel box, so after initially trying to escape she hid in the little den at the back for a week instead of her travel box, but that's cats for you. They knew she was actually coming out as her toys kept moving. She always seems to feel secure here, though she did go straight into her box without a fuss, which is unheard of, and we had to make it up to her, as I don't think there was enough human contact to keep her happy, but she is cautious with humans and needs a little time.

Vets

Lincvet - Friars Lane

43 Friars Ln, Lincoln LN2 5AL, UK – 01522 534841

After being with a well known vets within a pet store and having a bad experience we decided to go with Lincvet. We was so pleased we did, they are so friendly and helpful. The vets them selfs seem like they actually know what they are talking about and again very friendly and helpful. I have in fact all ready told people how good a service we get here at Lincvet. The only thing I would love to see them do is there own out of hours instead of going all the way to the other side of the city. Apart from that well worth changing vets. Keep up the good work.

A first class vetinary practise. The staff are all exceptional. They really are extremely professional. They have looked after our cat, who has an ongoing problem, with such care I can't speak highly enough of them. Five stars isn't enough.

The Veterinary Hospital

175 Newport, Lincoln LN1 3DZ, UK – 01522 800333

In tears writing this as I remember how well they looked after my baby boy whilst he was ill and the dignity they showed in his death. They always give you all the information so that you can make the right decision for your pet, you and your family. Thanks for looking after Enoch and giving him so much love and care in his final days.

Been using the vets for years, all of our dogs have been there past and present. If it's an emergency they are pretty good too they just tell you to come up. Really can't fault them.

Reception staff not overly welcoming, avoid even looking at you most of the time, the receptionist in glasses and hair back in a bun is particularly rude and ignorant. Vets are professional but some are more friendly than others. Tend to find they'll diognosed something it isn't, then charge you, then repeat several times over until the give correct diagnosis. One very big issue is the prices they charge compared to other vets, (£92 to tell me my dog had fleas and 1 tablet!! Then it turns out she didn't have fleas at all) but like most vets they'll use your emotions for your beloved pet to blood your bank account and are very happy to leave an animal to suffer in agony and pain for sake of a few quid.

Good, but what you get does greatly depend on which vet you see. Our cat loved the ear massage by one young female vet after putting drops in, but wasn't as pleased when a young gentleman took her temperature, though I can hardly blame him for that, I leave that up to the cat. Never seem to want to trim claws, but we bought her a cat tower with scratching posts, which has now reduced the issue.
